The amount of archaeological works and finds in Crimea in recent years has been significantly higher than all previous years.
It was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for the protection of cultural heritage of the Republic Vyacheslav ZARUBIN on a press conference in Simferopol, says the correspondent of the “Arguments of week – Crimea”.
According to him, this situation is due to the construction of major infrastructure facilities.
“At the end of 2017 we have got 136 open sheets (permits of the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation on the conduct of excavations) that were issued in the Crimea. It is really a record. If we remember the period up to 2014, we find out that then were opening about 40 sheets a year. This tendency is associated with the realization of major infrastructure projects in Crimea. It is clear that all needs to be investigated before the construction”, – said ZARUBIN.
In 2014-2016 the number of open sheets for the year also exceeded one hundred.
